Note : This process will delete all the apps and data from your phone so it will be better to take a backup before proceeding. While it will not delete any apps or games or software present on your Xiaomi Mi3
Install Android Lollipop On Your Xiaomi Mi3 With AOSP ROM.
- At first install CWM recovery 6.0.5.1 (R11) on your phone and donbot (For Mi 3W and Mi4W) too, you can get it here 😉
- To install CWM on your Xiaomi Mi3 you will require to open updater and select the file named as ” CWM_recovery_r11_cancro.zip” and then click on Install.
Now To Continue Installation You Will Require To Download The Softwares Listed Below
aosp-cancro-4.12.8-kQ1vi7iZhK-5.0 – Lollipop ROM for your Xiaomi Mi3 (245 MB)
gapps-lp-20141109-signed.zip – Gapps package for Android 5.0 (About 150 MB)
Now, when download finishes you will require to move these files from your PC or current file location to your SD card (/sdcard)
When you move those two files to your sdcard, simply start flashing your xiaomi mi3 with the help Xiaomi Mi3 CWM recovery and installer
Now you will need to reboot your phone in CWM reboot mode by going into updater -> settings -> click on menu button and finally on -> reboot your phone in “CWM data recovery” mode. 🙂
Note : Before proceeding check that your active system is “1” not “2”, if its “2” then change it. You can view and edit it in “Advance” tab 😛 (Use the defined touch controls at bottom of CWM screen to make your selection).
Now it will come up to a screen where you will have to select wipe data / factory reset data. ( it might that it take some time for wiping data, its on your data and phone.)
Now its will ask you to “wipe cache partition”, you have to click on it to proceed
Now click on “advance” tab and click on clear “dalvik cache”
Go to ‘mounts and storage’ and select ‘format /system1 (active)’ option to format it.
Now go back and select file Install.zip from “choose zip from /sdcard” -> 0/ and then choose the ‘aosp-cancro-4.12.8-kQ1vi7iZhK-5.0.zip’ and now proceed to install by clicking on the button “Install” but remember to install it in System 1.
Now, its time to install Google Apps for Android 5.0 (GAAPS). Now you have to go back and select the file named “gapps-lp-20141109-signed.zip” and click in install.
Now, again you have to clean or wipe your data and cache from your phone to continue installation
Now finally click on reboot phone and reboot your Xiaomi Mi3 with android 5.0 (lollipop) and make sure to click “NO” on editing root permissions and root your phone option. 😉
