Kerala Engineering, Agriculture and Medical Entrance Examination (KAEM)
In general, Commissioner of Entrance Examinations (CEE) Kerala conducts 9 Entrance Examinations for admission in various technical and professional courses every year in Kerala. The entrance examinations are as follows: Kerala Engineering Agriculture Medical Degree (KEAM), Three year LLB , Five year LLB, LLM, PG Ayurveda, PG Homoeo, PG Nursing, PG Medical and Super Specialty. All the allotments are done by CEE through a single Window System of the Centralized Allotment Process (CAP).
KEAM is a state level entrance examination for admission in various institutes in order to persue higher studies in professional and technical fields. It is an entrance examination for UG courses. KEAM is conducted by the CEE Kerala. The entrance examination is conducted not only in the regional centres of Kerala, but also in various test centers in Delhi, Mumbai, Ranchi, Shillong and Dubai.
Prospectus will be sold from January 2017 and the admission process will run throughout January.
Eligibility: The entrance examination is done under 3 categories: Keralite, Non Kealite Category 1, Non Keralite Category 2. The candidate must secure 50% marks in core (mathematics for engineering and architecture), (biology / biotechnology for medical and pharmaceutical) and overall 50% in aggregate in physics, chemistry and the core subject. Biotechnology will not be considered as a subject except for course in MBBS or BDS. For engineering admission, Computer science or biotechnology might be considered a subject in place of chemistry. Mathematics in +2 is mandatory for studying architecture course. All candidates must pass paper 1 and 2 of KEAM entrance examination with a minimum of 50% for MBBS and BDS course. This is for general candidates. For SC / ST / SEBC candidates, the limit is of 40% instead of 50% in every field.
Mahatma Gandhi University (MG University)
Mahatma Gandhi University is one of the Kerala state universities which are located in the district of Kottayam. It has more than 100 affiliated colleges under its jurisdiction which spreads over five districts of central Kerala. It is one of the top 50 universities in India. For studying under MGU, you can simply apply for the course online and you might get enlisted under its merit list. However, if you want to study technical courses from the university, you have to sit in an entrance examination. To sit in CAT exam of MGU, you can apply online and do as instructed. In general, online registration for CAT-MGU starts from March.
If you want to study M.Ed course from MGU, you have to apply online and send a hard copy of application including required attested documents to the Director of School of Pedagogical Sciences, Mahatma Gandhi University.
