This year, Lexus NX line turns out to be 4 years old. Lexus NX 300 is the new model. It came with a handful of minor changes from its previous model Lexus NX 200t but more or less it is the same car. Lexus NX 300 is a small luxury crossover and it comes with a mini RX 350 styling along with a comfortable around the town demeanor. Other than the comfortable seating, customers will also enjoy the benefits of the powerful four – cylinder turbo – charged engine and a wonderful interior.

Lexus NX 300 Overview:

Pricing –

The Lexus NX 300 comes with a starting price of $35985. Frankly, the car does not come with too many fancy car features and the pricing makes up for this. Though the Lexus NX interior is not that much luxurious but the build quality and safety standards are not at all compromised. This car packs a hand full of safety features so that you can drive with a sound mind even if you opt for the standard variant.

Safety System Plus Package –

To be honest with the previous model of Lexus NX line, Lexus NX 200t, almost nothing has changed mechanically but Lexus has upgraded the car with a safety package called Safety System Plus Package. Lexus Safety System Plus Package comes with the benefits of front collision mitigation, high – beam assistance, adaptive cruise control, lane departure alert, and adaptive cruise control. This year, all these come as standard equipment. Along with these changes, this Lexus NX line bearer also comes with a bigger display which itself is powered by an upgraded infotainment system. To be exact, the upgraded infotainment system not only has a bigger display but also a 30 % larger Remote Touch Interface pad. For the F Sport variant of this car, there is also an adaptive suspension damper.

Trim level –

This Lexus car is a 5 passenger compact SUV and comes in two trim levels: Lexus NX 300h hybrid and NX 300t F Sport version. As far as the standard variant of the Lexus NX 300h hybrid is concerned, it is powered by a 2 liter, 4 – cylinder turbo – charged engine. The 2 liter engine produces 235 horsepower and 258 pound – feet torque. All – wheel drive is optional whereas front – wheel drive is standard. The best part is that the front wheels are powered by 6 – speed automatic transmissions.

The standard equipment list includes LED head lights, running lights, LED fog lights, 17 – inch wheels, keyless ignition, automatic dual – zone climate control, simulated – leather upholstery, a 60/40-split folding, power – adjustable front seats, an 8 – speaker sound system, reclining back seat, an 8 – inch infotainment display with comes with a touchpad interface, automatic high beams, an adaptive cruise control, mitigation warning, forward collision warning, and lane departure warning.

On the other hand, the other trim level, Lexus NX 300t F Sport comes with 18 – inch wheels, a sports – tuned suspension, special exterior styling elements, special interior trims, aggressively bolstered seats, NuLuxe color schemes, a sport steering wheel and different gauges. There are some more packages but the availability of the package completely depends upon the region. Along with the standard features, the Comfort package includes blind spot monitoring and heated and ventilated front seats. On this, the Premium package adds a sunroof, 18 – inch wheels, and a power – adjustable steering wheel, and driver – seat memory settings. On contrary, along with the above mentioned features, the Luxury package adds automatic wipers, leather upholstery and a heated steering wheel. Apart from these packages, there is also a Navigation package which comes with a screen size of 10.3 – inch along with a premium sound system.

Drawbacks –

  • Due to the steeply sloped rear window, the space for rear cargo is quite limited.
  • Though the infotainment interface is a cool add – on feature but it might distract some drivers as well.
  • Performance is average but the reasonable pricing makes up for this.

Conclusion:

We recommend you that unless the tight seat bolstering and adjustable suspensions of the Lexus NX 300 F Sport Car are must haves it will be a rational decision to opt for Lexus NX 300. And as far as the packages are concerned, we recommend a Comfort Package.
